time magazine top 100 influential person 2020 List Declared
Time Magazine has released a list of the 100 most influential people in the world this year. The list includes five Indians, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and actor Ayushman Khurana. Also on the list are Google CEO Sundar Pichai, London-based Indian-origin doctor Ravindra Gupta and Bilkis Dadi, who has been in the spotlight since the Shahinbagh movement. All of these people have been the most talked about in the world this year.
"Democracy does not need free elections," PM Modi wrote to Time magazine. Only those who get the most votes are known from the election. India has been the largest democracy in the world for seven decades. Modi came to power with futures of empowerment. His Hindu nationalist BJP rejected not only elitism but also pluralism. India's 1.3 billion population includes Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and people of other faiths.
Ayushman Khurana is the only Indian actor to be included in Time's list of 100 most influential people this year. For her, actress Deepika Padukone wrote that Ayushman also penetrates very well into characters who are considered to be stereotypes. He has given many memorable films.
Time magazine's list also includes Chinese President Xi Jinping, US President Donald Trump and Taiwanese President Tsai Ying-wen. Also in the United States are world leaders, including presidential and vice presidential candidates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
